New User Changes For Our Spamming Friends

Post by David LeBow »

Hello,

This is to let you know that as a new user to this forum your posts will be moderated until we move you into the "registered users" group. For someone first logging on and hoping to post, this will be a bit of an inconvenience for which we apologize in advance. Your first post will not appear until one of our moderators has let it through the gates. Do not despair... anyone with a valid post will be admitted.

We are doing this to slow down our spamming friends who create a new user and then immediately post spam. Rather than giving them that opportunity, we need to tighten down a bit.

I'm still researching a bigger relay on the starter motor of my Honda so I can get more output. I just can't decide on a 250, 500, or 1000 amp relay - I don't want things to get out of control - like oversizing at McD's just to realize your eyes were bigger than the stomach. For OpticsRE, maybe the size of the starter relay should be in the menu for setup?

(For those who didn't see it there was a response on a thread that you can increase the output of your genset by increasing the size if the relay to the starter motor. The post had a link to a certain company, with really bad english translation, to their line of generator services and replacement engines, parts, etc. It was entertaining, for sure.)

How about a forum for classics? I have kept a file for years of some of the most absurdly fun comments. How about this one for you OB Engineers: Running through an Engineering Change Order to the documentation the team leader was nailed for removing a leader and note. His response: "I didn't remove it. I showed it not there."

Hello,

In order to help cut down on our spammer *friends*, we have the forum set up to have a user's first post require moderation. You've been moderated in.

If new user posts are moderated, is there a time frame before said posts "go live?" Also, while awaiting moderating, where can the user find posts to edit until moderated? I cannot find a section for "posts awaiting moderation" under my profile. I'm trying to have an issue addressed for over a week now. I'm also wondering if this board is even monitored.

Hi qballrail,

Thanks for your post.

There isn't a fixed timeframe before a post goes live. It depends upon when one of the moderators notices the post and boxes it through. This board is monitored.

Apologies for the delay. I've escalated your request.
