How to charge the AGM batteries?

Post by mrch22 »

how to charge AGM batteries using the power grid, I have tried to configure my skybox to do it but I can't find a way to charge them without using solar energy

My RE system: 7.9 kW self installed Enphase system NEM 2.0 PTO 9*2021. Skybox, and heat pump/AC system. The Skybox is powered by a 42 kWh pack of LFP batteries and 2kW panels. It is used in self consumption mode for load shifting and backup.

If you just want a one time charge you can do a reset that will start Bulk. Do you have a rate structure that is economical to charge from grid? What mode are you using?
Use my Skybox in Self Consumption mode to reduce my energy costs, including charging two EV from solar when possible.

Your Skybox will only charge from grid when battery voltage drops to the rebulk setpoint, or if you manually start a bulk charge by doing a reset, as Ampster says. So set rebulk where you want charging from grid to begin:

As you can see I have mine set for 51.0V. My battery never reaches that point because I have solar charging. On OpticsRE:

Its raining here today and my battery is at 82% and there is not much prospect of much solar production I just triggered a reset while rates are low so I will have capacity.
