thanks, peter
Have you tried https://www.opticsre.com rather than
https://opticsre.com ? For me, the www version is the
only URL that works.
Thanks! that does work. I guess I missed the memo about changing the URL...

Any update on this? I still dont have access to a remote site? If not working can we revert to the old one until you correct the issue?

It is now 12/19/2023 and the web site is still down. I am unable to log in but I did install the mobile app and it seems to be working on my phone. When is the desktop version going to be available?

Hello,

OpticsRE 4.8.5 is up and running at https://www.opticsre.com/Home/#/sign-in . Could you please try once again using the above link? If necessary, please update any saved links to that URL. There are additional troubleshooting tips on the OutBack User Forum at viewtopic.php?t=18366.

If after that, you're still having issues, could you please provide some additional information so that we might investigate?

1) What is your OpticsRE site and/or profile name?

2) How are you attempting to view OpticsRE? Android App? iPhone App? Web browser?

3) If web browser, which browser are you trying to use?

4) If web browser, a screen shot of what you're seeing - including the URL and any error messages - would be very helpful.

Thanks!

David

Frankly, I never liked the idea of using a third party server to control my own hardware, but I live with it because the Outback hardware's API is extremely hard to deal with, assuming you can pry a (apparently outdated) copy of the API descriptions out of Outback. So I live with the Optics RE website and a lengthy/obscure set of credentials.
You can always use Andrew Welch's Wattplot ACKCess. More command and monitoring tools than Optics, and PC based, so no data leaves the friendly confines of your LAN.
My problems with WattPlot:
  1. It's closed source code from a third party developer.
  2. It's Windows-based. I haven't had a Windows system in a very long time, and I don't care for the idea of setting one up (and maintaining it) just for this one purpose.
I'd really rather just have a simple API that I can use over my LAN, without exposing my hardware to the dangers of third party software or third party servers. Especially not for hardware that can be damaged or do damage if the wrong settings are applied.
Maybe not be the appropriate venue for this but Home Assistant integration of Outback Power is desirable. Where are the API documents? This is easy, no problem, if there is documentation. For starters I've been polling the Mate3S via HTTP to expose sensors to Home Assistant. With documentation a better approach would be an MQTT middleware service that plays nicely with cloud (OpticsRE) and local uses.

Hi Vincjwan,

Could you please give me a bit more information on this? The tooltip in your attachment looks right to me, at first glance. What do you mean by "...devices do not have a direct stage view..."?

Thanks!
