Blew out my flexnet DC and hub. Can I temporarily hook my Outback charge controller to my Mate 3s?

The FlexMax can be connected directly to the Mate using the Outback network port on each device, and a cable used to connect to the Hub.
The FlexMax operates autonomously, however, and doesn't need to be connected to the Mate to function properly.
