With the increase in Chatbots finding their way onto this forum, the admins need to think about another filtering process.

Heck, even Facebook lets you "Unfollow" someone...
Is that maybe already available on the OB forum?

You can mark them as "Foe" but it doesn't do anything to keep the non-human posts off the site.

We catch many of them, but some slip through the cracks. Feel free to "Report" one you think is suspicious and someone will have a closer look. It's not always possible to be sure.

So these are your best jokes when given a thread?

Try this:

Two hungry flies land on a piece of fresh feces. They are dining voraciously when suddenly one of them loudly expresses himself. The other fly turns to him and says: "Do you have to do that disgusting stuff when I'm eating?"

I used to post more, but I find that fewer new users have my similar configuration and I am not up to date with personal experience on newer systems.

It would be nice if Outback offered a generous trade in policy for new equipment as they are introduced.

You are definitely not a bot or chat AI!

The thing that scares most people is that 75 percent of the world's population may be able to appear smarter than they really are using an AI.

I on the otherhand, am a life long pessimist so I always expect the worst behavior possible to imagine and am rarely disappointed.

So you are sick and go to see the doctor who has an M.D. degree. You tell your complaints to the doctor. They listen and then type them into their chat AI computer. As the results of the inquiry come back, they ask you a few questions, order some tests and schedule your follow up. The bill is $700.00 for the visit. Broken down as an office visit with complicated complaints requiring use of AI interface.

On your follow up appointment, the doctor discusses your test results and provides your diagnosis. You have a hangnail. Your follow up visit was only $400.00 since the AI was not used. You leave the office feeling much better about your prognosis and your future.

Back at your office, you have a new customer appointment scheduled. You listen to the new customer's needs, consult your AI to provide the necessary response. You charge the new customer $1,000.00 for this expert advice. The customer goes home and replaces their broken sprinkler head as you advised. All are happy with their outcomes.

This is the future of AI!

Many thanks, Raysun, for your post reports. They're very much appreciated. We do moderate all "first posts" from a new user through. Some are entirely obvious to whoever gets to them first, others not so much. As it is, you're not seeing the really egregious posts, but sometimes, some slip through. We look at them again (and usually delete the user) after a report comes in.

We don't want to aggravate any legit users, so sometimes we err in the direction of caution. For the benefit of the less-renewable-savvy (i.e., me), feel free to add any additional rationale to your report, so that we don't let anything slip between the slats.

Since I read most all threads, posts that seems to be AI generated are evident. I report them without much discrimination, as much as FYI as anything. If there's Admin action to take, thank you for doing so.
Most of the chatbot posts are innocuous, or irrelevant, at this point, so are simply a waste of the reader's time. The concern, as they get more sophisticated, is believable-appearing, but wrong information slipping into a conversation and causing confusion or misoperation of equipment.
Come to think of it, a subset of my own posts would qualify for the latter...
Nothing's perfect.
