On my forums I don't allow any attachments over 1000pix by 1000pix.
Most resize to 600X800.
If you need more detail it's better to cut your photo into 2 or even 4 & post separate pictures.
Most laptops only display it on a 1200 screen anyway so the viewer needs to scroll up & down and side to side.
Not real friendly?

EA6LE-ONE's original 1.9MB jpeg was 4000 x 3000 and 72 pxl/inch. Cutting that down to 1000 x 750 and 72 pxl/inch gave a 242KB jpeg with some pretty severe loss of resolution zoomed in. Not ridiculous at all, and still 5X what is presently allowed on the secure website. Here it is:

That is on the secure website!
There aren't 2 websites. It's just one means of viewing it, the data gets encripted before being sent and the other is not.
I notice the email sent advising of a new post on a thread goes back to http://.
It needs changing in the forum setup by Admin. (General/Board Settings in Admin)
Website name .... https://www.outbackpower.com

Re: Forum Requires Client Certificate?
OK, can you explain that so I get it? If I want to post a high resolution file, I can't post it on the https website, but I can on the http website, right? And I see that the high resolution picture that can only be posted on the http website can still be viewed on the https website.
Are both of those always going to be available to me? It seems like 2 websites....what am I missing?

Re: Forum Requires Client Certificate?
It really should not make any difference UNLESS Alpha are using a separate website but I doubt it.
Once the company are happy with the "S" side of things they really should put a redirect in the website.
eg.
https://www.freecodecamp.org/news/how-t ... -htaccess/
That way for the thousands of people who just type in " outbackpower.com/forum " will auto go with the "S".
PS. I notice the Admin have changed the website name. Good stuff. (as in email advice)

Yes, the size limitation is constraining.provo wrote: ↑Sun Jul 12, 2020 10:42 am I Googled my original problem with Safari and Chrome wanting me to select a client certificate and then refusing to accept it to let me into the https site. Turns out I needed to go into my Keychain Access utility on the Mac (Mojave), pick the certificate, and set Always Trust. Very obscure, but it worked.
Anyway, it's easy to get in now, but I'll only use it when I don't need to attach a file bigger than 50MB! Any screenshot from my Retina display starts out huge, and gets really grainy if I try to get it down to even 100KB.
Anybody else having attachment problems on the secure site?

Hey there! It sounds like a browser issue. Try clearing your browser cache or using an incognito window.
