Weather and Charge Rate

Post by raysun »

Today was a day of pretty uniform high overcast with the ķind of thin clouds that produce "flat light". I wasn't expecting much in the way of battery charging. When I glanced at the system a few moments ago and noted the SoC @ 100% it wasn't super-suprising, as the battery charges pretty easily, however, the following was very surprising:
8.36kW peak from a 7.0kW nominal array and 152A charge rate is pretty much among the all-time high here!
Actually it is the recorded all-time high on the two FM80s, as I've been trying to track down a minor, but annoying, OpticsRE bug, and in the pre-dawn hours, factory reset the charge controllers. They started today with 0 accumulations.
