WattPlot ACKcess 6 beta

Screenshot_20230222_092039_Microsoft Remote Desktop.jpg
WattPlot ACKcess 6 beta running on an Intel NUC pc attached to the LAN.
Sorry about the screen scaling. The PC is being accessed via Remote Desktop from my smartphone.

ACKcess communicates with the Mate3/3s and provides local monitoring, control, and automation.

Though I had an issue in the past, I have no problem running ACKcess and OpticsRE simultaneously. (However it would be prudent to not make concurrent, conflicting changes in both systems.)

Well, that looks interesting for sure. I have not used WattPlot in a few years. I still have it installed on my laptop upstairs. I may have to update it as I'm on V4. Will work on that in the next few weeks as I will have some time off (6 weeks for Lower Jaw Surgery).

Will then see about the Beta Version.

I wonder if it can read and program the QUCC BMS I am using.

Does the BMS speak ModBus?

I am going to look into that. Pretty sure it can do RS485 but not sure about MODBUS.

ACKcess 6 is definitely a work in progress, and Andrew is making good headway!
It's nice to have another option, especially for folks that can't/don't have reliable broadband.
For me, I like the "real time" feel. Also, there's lots of automation available not found in Optics.

Excellent news! I used WattPlot for years during the days of Mate3 connection failures and loved it. During those years I also had two laptop failures and lost all history. Those were also the years of small data quotas from whatever satellite provider at the time so no streaming backups (that may be returning :-( ) I'm gonna have to investigate this!

Thanks Andrew! Thanks for reporting Raysun!

I'm still exploring to understand what's implemented to date, and how things work.
One benefit to Optics is I get to let someone else be responsible for maintaining data. One benefit to WattPlot is I get to maintain my own data.

Raysun, absent the WattPlot S/W install, can you give a short rundown of the steps to enable both OpticsRE to run concurrent with Wattplot? TIA.

On the Mate, enable both OpticsRE and Sunspec.
In the past, when the Sunspec Interface was enabled, OpticsRE would stop working. Now, both co-exist without issue.

Well that looks easy enough. Thank you. A new item on my to-do list.

There are two more issues - one of which may have been solved as well..

1. I'm running WattPlot ACKcess against a MATE3 (v. 003.015.005) - old, I know. If OpticsRE is NOT enabled, then the SunSpec Modbus interface fails about every 80 seconds. #-o ( There's a test for someone who has later firmware or a MATE3s!)

2. Raysun recently noted that OpticsRE was refusing to send a command to his MATE3s because it said "Waiting for 1 configuration change to complete". Apparently ACKcess had attempted a configuration, but something lingered? More testing required!

LMK if there's some specific test steps I can execute.
