Maximum panel wattage

Post by Poocifer »

I am running a 24v system and am looking to upgrade my solar panels. Currently we have 6 115 watt panels. I am I correct in thinking that the MX60 will only take advantage of a maximum of 1600 watts? Or am I reading this spec sheet incorrectly (entirely possible)? http://www.greenwoodlands.org/images/MX ... _Sheet.pdf

With 8 Surrette S550 batteries, I'm assuming you have a 48V system, but you know what they say about when you assume anything... Anyway, if 48 volts then max 3,000 watts, 24 volts max 1500 (not 1600) watts. See this thread for quote from Home Power mag about max array sizing with MX60: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=15694&hilit=Home+power

Only a 24v system actually. It was put together before I got the property. Thanks for the clarification on the wattage.
