HBX-DROP

Post by Andrew Simpson »

MATE is not dropping the grid when HBX-Drop set point is reached.
Does it manually but not automatic.
Setting 25 V for 0.1 hr
HBX-Use at 23.5 for 0.2
Batteries at 26.5

I'm not familiar with the 3024J inverter but my own GVFX inverters have a fixed rebulk voltage setting of 25.0 volts. If yours have this fixed rebulk setpoint as well then it's possible your system goes to a bulk/absorb cycle when it reaches 25 volts instead of dropping the grid.

BTW, that's a pretty low voltage setpoint to drop grid - seems like it should be higher, at 25 volts your system probably can't afford to drop the grid. Try raising the drop setpoint, that might also prevent a bulk cycle from starting.

Also, while searching for info about your inverter I ran across this thread http://outbackpower.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7505 Maybe it'll help.

My HBX-DROP voltage was higher but I thought the batteries may have lost a cell so reduced it. Have serviced the batteries / terminals and painted the rack. Waiting to reinstall and hoping this will solve the issue. We use an FM 80 to charge and have a FLEXnet DC installed. The screen on the FM 80 is blank and I wonder whether that is also affecting the coms.
Thanks for your response.
