Looking for a panel to serve as a disconnect

Post by josephguidry »

Hi guys, I'm a newbie. I am using 4 Kyocera, KC-120s, and looking for a panel to serve as a disconnect for my solar panels and my MX 60. My battery array is a 12-volt array. But I know space will be limited. I know I can get an at-type fuse that will handle the amps, but I would prefer to use a breaker.
Do you have any recommendations for a suitable console?

I don't use this but could work for you. You'll need to buy a breaker for it, it's large enough to add more panels if you want.

I use the Midnite Solar combiner box series that Mike recommended. Assuming the 4 Kyocera panels are wired as a single series string, a single disconnect (circuit breaker) is all that's needed.

If there isn't a DC surge suppressor on the PV array circuit, the MNPV combiner is a convenient location to mount one. Midnite Solar sells such a unit.
