Current System Status: Offline

Post by provo »

Something I’ve never seen before: I noticed I hadn’t updated my System Info on the Mate3s since I changed batteries (thanks, Mike Curran!) So I did that on the Mate and now I can’t login to OpticsRE ("Current System Status: Offline"). The Mate itself works fine, and I can see the Mate webpage, so both ethernet and my ethernet-to-wifi adapter are still up.

I assume Optics still works for everyone else — it would be a crazy coincidence if it happened right when I changed some system information.

Any ideas?

Edit: The last entry in the Event History is "Gateway Device is offline." But I don't think that's true now, or I couldn't use the Mate or see the Mate webpage. It's just Optics that won't connect.

Edit #2: An hour later, and now I can't see the Mate3s webpage. I changed the TCP/IP address once and I could connect for a while, but now I've lost it again and changing the address doesn't work now. Problem with the Mate?

Problem solved after a call to Tech Support. Optics wouldn't connect to my system until I enabled DHCP in the Mate Networking panel. Funny, because the address it came up with was one I had used earlier....

It wanted to make the decision on its own!!

Thanks again, Dave  .
