Solar Spikes at night

Post by santafedave »

I am getting these solar spikes in the middle of the night. They do not show up on the power bill. Please help I am having to reset the Mate3s at least weekly now. Thanks.

update to 1.4.6.

1.4.5 is problematic, I had big problems with it.

1.4.3 is safe also.

Also check you events log and make certain is appears "normal" for your system. When the software is buggy or corrupt, users not a large inrush of events in the log happening every few seconds.

what is the firmware on mate? 1.4.6 is the latest. 1.4.5 is known to have problems.

If you still have problems with 1.4.6, maybe changing the communication cable from inverter and mate to HUB with shielded cables might help. The CCs cables as well if they cross AC cables.

If its noise induced on cables, why is it not randomly displayed throughout the day, instead of showing up aggregated in an hour?

Have you reported it to the OpticsRE team? The ? in the lower left of the Optics status screen opens up a convenient dialog for that purpose.

I had the same thing happening to me (posted on the forum already) and with the config events that reported to outback support, their advice was to change the cables with shielded ones. I haven't change all the cables on the CCs yet and still have the config events here and there. just being lazy, I prepared the wires and the connectors. will be happening in the next few days.

It will be good to know if that actually helps, and if the type of 'weirdness' you're seeing has the same cause as the others are seeing.
