MATE3s question

Post by jainsw »

I've ordered the MATE3s and have been reading the programming guide prior to receiving it. I intend to employ the MATE3s with my new setup of SimpliPhi batteries to replace my FLA bank and my current original MATE. Question, is it possible to connect the new MATE3s at the same time as my current original MATE so that I can set the parameters from the old MATE into the new MATE3s? I intend on running the FLA batteries for a couple of days and then switch over to the SimpliPhi bank and reset the MATE3s then.

Both Mates cannot be connected to the hub at the same time. However, the programming for the inverter, charge controllers, and FNDC are stored in those devices. When the new Mate3s is booted up, it will interrogate the devices, and collect their data. The only pieces missing will be Mate specific programming, which needs to be entered manually.

That makes it handy. So, basically, I just unplug the old MATE and plug in the new MATE3s, then program the MATE only settings which I get before I unplug the old MATE. I suppose then I will save this setup configuration to an SD card and operate for a couple of days before I connect the new lithium ion batteries. I did notice on the MATE3s instructions that it can't program the MX60 CC but will read it so I guess that means I will direct program the CCs and then the MATE3s will use those parameters.

Sorry, no I don't. I think I've been too far in the weeds for the past several days and need a break. No, I do not have an MX60. I have the FM60 and FM80 charge controllers

OK. Stay away from weed. I mean weeds.

The FM charge controllers can be programmed directly from their menus, via the Mate3s setup, or via OpticsRE.
