Fleware 500 Knockouts

Greetings.
First-time posting. I am currently installing a residential Flexware 500 system in Ontario, Canada and have a query about the knockouts on the boxes. Although I have have trained as a PVT, conduit issues have dogged this non-electrician. I am using a new Swiss 1 1/2" corrigated conduit product called PMA. When I went to attach the home run to the Fleware500 DC box, I banged out the large knockout simply assuming that the 1 1/2" threaded fitting would slip in, screw on the nut and be done. Not so! My question to the forum is: why are the knockouts 2 1/2", and what is the best practice to connect conduit/reducers/expanders of different diameters to the boxes?
Thanks;
Clive

Go to electrical supply house and ask for some "Chinese Money" washers to shim the large knock out removed.

Much obliged. The flat washers worked a proper treat.
Now, if there was only a pre-cut wiring kit available for the DC side....Outback tells me that they stopped offering a kit after stopping the PSDC production. Oh well!
