FX2000 more ?'s

Post by Dave Palumbo »

Christopher,

Thanks for your last response.

With the "single aux control" can we both start/stop a genset, and control a battery enclosure vent fan?

Is the PSMP - Mounting Plate - necessary for a safe installation? Or can we mount the PSDC, PSAC, and FX2000 directly on plywood (or firecode sheetrock)for a less expensive installation? Do you feel that the inverter could overheat or otherwise become a fire hazard?

It would be helpful for you to note in future literature, or on the web, about the snap on covers for the DC conections, and the removable plate for AC connectors on the FX. Also, the pictures of the inverter (by itself) in your catalog are not very enlightening, or flattering.

Each FX2000 inverter or MX60 control has one output which can do one function only per product. So if you had two inverters, one could start the generator and another could operate a vent fan.

The PSMP is not a requirement. Mounting any electrical components on a fire resistant backing is a good idea. Our design using the sealed castings is actually a lot safer and thee is limited air inside to support a fire and it is hard for flaming material to be released.

Thanks for the input - it has been added to the revision list.
