Re: MATE control from PC?

Unfortunately, no. The CAT5 cable is simply used to transmit proprietary signals between the MATE and the devices. There are other Outback devices that could take the MATE's place (MATE3, AXS Port, etc.), and good software that can monitor and control your system through the MATE or other device, bu...

Re: AGS - time till genstart fault

Hey guys! Always like to see threads like this with little quirks that can make all the difference. As you may know, WattPlot ACKcess development is not terminated, merely on hold. And I intend to pop in and set a warning flag for this Warmup Time/Fault Time issue, for the next release (if and when ...

Re: Settings for a new Mate3s?

I had a similar answer to the first question. Use software that will allow you to access every setting on the MATE3S on a computer screen, showing the current value, default/minimum/maximum values, and (in many cases) context-sensitive help on precisely what the setting means. Change your setting by...

It's alive! IT'S ALI-I-I-IVE!! (I feel like young Frankenstein!)

My previous measurements were obviously faulty. I just kept the charger on it until both halves were at 12 and then reconnected and booted up. Now booting WattPlot ACKcess so I can monitor the EQ charge...

Re: Dead system

There is a saying in this industry that batteries don't die. They are murdered. I may have acid on my hands... I don't know what caused them to lose water so fast, but I have been so busy away on extended Red Cross disaster deployments that I was not keeping an eye on things. Dead system

Now it's my turn to seek support... I had a utility power outage here this morning. Normally the GVFX 3624 system kicks right in - and it did. However, a glance at my MATE3 showed a battery voltage of 17.4 volts. What?!? Typically, the grid keeps everything charged up nicely here at the ex...

Re: Mate 3/s serial communications

I am using a mate3 (not s) with the data being broadcast over the TCP IP network. I can read it all ok, but I am not sure of what each of the columns in the FXR data are, as they are different from both the Mate2 serial comms data and the data examples given in the Mate3 programming guide. So I was...

Re: WattPlot returns!

Hi all: I received an email from a long-time WattPlot Monitor user who said that the long-standing 'last release' of WattPlot Monitor (5.1.5.0) was giving them consistent problems with their European-version Radian set-up. This is not acceptable behaviour from a 'final' version, so I spent a long ti...

Re: How to get Optics RE functionality on a standalone system

Whats frustrating is that I know it's possible but not available. The guy who made WattPlot was working on version 6 ('ACKcess') that'd speak native modbus and do everything Im looking for but development got dropped two years ago just before the final release. Why doesnt OB buy him out, finish it ...

Discussions were started but no arrangement reached.
I'm not incorporated so they ended the discussion right there.

Seriously.

WattPlot returns!

Hello OutBack users! Where do the years go...? Okay, WattPlot is not exactly back to where it was, but a LOT of work went into software that was never released, and it deserves to be out there and used a bit. So, I'm putting out the most recent (i.e. almost 2 years ago) Alpha version...

Re: WattPlot 5 is back - and free

I think the "load" figures are the accumulated kwh for today, but I don't see any indicator for actual real time load watts. Is there a way to display that? And why has Optics stopped showing current watts data in the power flow chart? Further to my previous response, you may find WattPlo...

Re: WattPlot 5 is back - and free

I've disabled data streaming and seems like the odd behavior has gone away. Of course, no Wattplot data. You still have a few options. You can try turning on Network Data Streaming (UDP/IP) and get your MATE3 data to WattPlot via a network cable. Or you can go Modbus for WattPlot. The other option ...

Re: WattPlot 5 is back - and free

Funny, since I set it up my Optics dashboard power flow chart doesn't display the "to load" (going to the light bulb) data, although it does show the hourly totals in the bar chart. WattPlot should not have any effect on OPTICSre values (obviously), however, I suppose the installation of ...

Re: Enable SunSpec on Mate3 remotely?

I'm afraid you might be out of luck on this one.

Even the most powerful access to the MATE3 settings (via Modbus) can't change this setting - which makes sense since SunSpec has to be enabled for Modbus to work!

Re: MATE serial out. Negative numbers for FN-DC shunts

Correct - WattPlot applications support every possible interface. From the MATE3 perspective, the UDP and USB interfaces are more reliable than the Modbus (depending on the firmware). The Modbus (with intelligent software) is the most powerful. The USB supports a good collection of predefined comman...

Is there software that monitors both Outback inverter and Classic CC? or better yet are there plans for the optics RE to interoperate the classic? Would be nice to see my system all in one program. WattPlot ACKcess was designed to do this, and has successfully connected to a MidNite Classic. ACKces...
