Re: Search Mode for LED lighting

Rather than swapping out dimmers (mine are Lutron) and LEDs, I think 706jim’s idea of simply adding more PV is the simplest (Occam’s Razor) and lowest cost approach, especially as our existing array is 20-27 years old and has surely degraded output by now The Lutron dimmers are generally good. That...

Re: "Blind" system

There could also be an issue with Hub port that you are plugging the Flexnet DC in to. If the problem (hub shutting down) follows the FNDC to the new port then the problem is with either the FNDC cable or the FNDC.

Re: Guess how many times my generator comes on

FWIW, I know this suggestion is unpalatable, but if the existing battery blocks were pared down to a set that wasn't entirely dead, its likely there would be far less AGS activity. Its speculation, but fairly educated speculation, that a good chunk of the charge going into the battery is being wast...

Re: Solar newb - Outback 60 Charge Controller: Default settings/settings advice?

Welcome You will need to get the battery charging specs from Centennial and then adjust the absorb voltage, absorb time, float voltage, etc. Battery is described as a sealed flooded lead acid. As such you do not want to do any equalization. At the back of the FM60/80 CC manuals there is a good descr...

Re: Pair of FM80's going to 'Charged' and sticking there

What version of firmware is on the FM80s?
Look up the Auto-Restart option in the manual, some have reported that this works. The restart occurs every 90 minutes.
What is the Voc of your panels coming into each FM80?

Re: Battery Voltage very high when on Inverter with no Grid AC

The separate inverter was required by my grid-tie power company because there's nowhere to connect an AC power meter to an Outback Radian inverter. Interesting, as this is done all the time by myself and others. Our utility requires a bi-directional meter on the Grid In/Out connection and a uni-dir...

Re: HOW TO HOOK UP RADIAN INVERTER TO ECO-GEN GENERATOR

I'm trying to figure out how I trickle charge the battery on the generator by using the inverter. I thought I could simply run a wire from the 12V Aux to the T1 (blue port) on the eco-gen. However, the Generac manual only shows that (2) wire are used for off grid applications, which is a blue wire ...

Re: Low Solar Production Readings

A couple of additional questions:
1) Are you grid connected and selling to the grid?
2) What mode(s) are you operating?
3) On the Mate3s Global Charge tab, do you have "Auto Grid-Tie Mode" enabled?

Re: AC Input current exceeded configured range

Still have no idea why the settings got messed up after the firmware updates. Are you sure that you were at 1.6.63 on inverter? The inverter firmware upgrade to 1.6.3, increased the resolution of possible current values but had side affect of cutting all current values to 25%. That sounds like what...

Re: AC Input current exceeded configured range

One of the first things tech support will ask is if you are running the current firmware. I would suggest updating the GS8048A and Mate3 firmware if not up to date. Some OpticsRE "reported errors" are due to down level Mate3 firmware.

I have multiple systems running same configuration with no issues.

It is anomalous data as it shows selling 2x the battery capacity with no change in V. What the cause is, I do not know.

Re: The Right Way to Ground

Turns out my well is actually plastic I guess? For most wells the top 20-30 feet in our area is steel, with newer wells using PVC casing below that. They used to use PVC cement to bond the sections, but that creates some excitement when a spark ignites the contained vapors. Our local well driller, ...

Re: Bypass 600v Ground Fault fuse

The FM100 AFCI has both Ground Fault and Arc Fault protection. Both of these NEC required features are to protect a structure from burning down versus personnel protection. So if the array is on a structure, you want to be careful given your remote location. The fuse is for the Ground Fault portion ...

Its more than enough to drive the charge controller and charge the battery to 60V if specs call for it. @raysun, unfortunately it is a 24V inverter. I hate this question, just so ya know, but want input before I yell. My proposal to them would be, give me your FM80 (time to upgrade your MX60) and b...

Re: Issues with Grid Tie and Time of Use

Are you using FLEXtime tab on the Mate3s to change the Radian's operating modes? If so what modes are you using? Should be Grid-Tied during non-peak charge period and Mini-Grid or GridZero during peak periods. On the Mate3s Global Charge tab, make sure to disable "Auto Grid Tie Control." I...

Your picture is of the FNDC's Relay tab. Nothing to do with your FM100s. My guess is that you are not using the FNDC relay and can ignore the yellow boxes or change them to the default values.
