Re: Generator Status Screen - Charging: None

What device's Aux output is used for the AGS? Are you using any other AGS triggers other than 2 Minute start? I'm not sure how to answer your question, as I don't understand the AUX feature real well. But maybe the following photo will answer your question. All the other triggers are turned off, so...

Re: Generator Status Screen - Charging: None

How is the battery health these days? All the charging modes are predicated to a large extent on a healthy battery. The battery health, although not the best, is getting us by with the help of the generator coming on as needed. We have plans to toss the battery bank in favor of some new lithium one...

Generator Status Screen - Charging: None

I was unable to find any information in the manual as to why the Generator Status screen would show, "Charging NONE". I took this photo when I got up recently and discovered the AGS had run the generator for nearly 5 hours. charging-none.jpeg Most of the time the AGS works great. It will c...

Re: Can't copy the updated firmware files onto SD card

Yes, the card was using the FAT format. So even though that error was on the screen, I decided to just try the Update button anyway and it worked in the end. I had to manually reboot the Mate, but this is what it shows now: upgraded.jpeg Although the Mate3s is definitely an upgrade from the old vers...

Re: Can't copy the updated firmware files onto SD card

Okay I'm back on this topic again. After working with Apple technical support I found out the reason why I couldn't save the new firmware files onto my SD disk that came with the Mate. It was due to having a little card reader device that was broken. Once I inserted the SD disk right into the SD slo...

Re: Westinghouse generator doesn't always make 120V

Back to the generator. Yes, turn off the Outback inverter charger, and don't use the genny to charge the battery any more. See if that doesn't help it maintain output voltage. Hopefully its not too late for remedial action here. I'm really confused by what you just said here. First, turning off the...

Re: Determining amp hours and absorb time

Absorb Time for the GC2 battery type is somewhat problematic. As such, they accept Absorb charge very slowly. In fact a somewhat unconventional two-step Absorb cycle is generally specified, the first at a "normal" absorb voltage with a duration of 2-3 hours, and a second at a voltage that...

It's a 16GB card with plenty of space, as only 11MB are being used. It also shows that its already using the FAT32 format.

Can't copy the updated firmware files onto SD card

The only difference from the demonstration video for this process is that I use a Mac instead of a PC. My Mac can easily read the contents of the SD card. But when I try to copy the files associated with the newest firmware, I am unable to drag/drop them into place in the Finder. My mouse pointer tu...

Is the charger making use of all available incoming power?

So I'm getting 700 watts from the panels and 1200 watts from the generator and yet only 200 watts are being used by the charger to feed the batteries? Why doesn't this screen show how many watts are being passed along to the AC loads?

Could low voltage from generator be due to Economy Mode?

The thought occurred that the low voltage after first starting the generator might be due to the economy mode. Someone on here said they leave that turned on all the time, so it's been in the On position for quite some time. Would this be causing the generator to struggle to produce consistency 120 ...

Re: Westinghouse generator doesn't always make 120V

Try turning off the inverter charger when running the generator and see if it will maintain 120V. One of the first symptoms is failure to maintain voltage as the Automatic Voltage Regulator circuit starts to fail. Its commonly a precursor to the inverter module (of which it is a part) heading to an...

The manual says the spreadsheet would include headers, but they don't show up for me. Did a recent firmware version eliminate this? Very inconvenient.

Westinghouse generator doesn't always make 120V

Please be patient with me. I realize this generator, although a USA brand, is made by slave labor in China. We do the best we can out here on a shoestring budget. Lately the Outback AGS will start the inverter generator, but many times it won't produce 120V, and so the Mate logs this alert: 120V.jpe...

Do you have a GSCM Mini-P made by Atkinson Electronics?

It's starting to give me trouble lately even though I just bought it a few months ago. If it encounters a vault, like because the generators is not producing 120volts, then the GSCM gives a Fault code and then is unable to turn off the generator. Not good. Please let me know if you have some experie...

Determining amp hours and absorb time

How do I determine the amp hour rating for a battery if its not listed on the label? I also need to find the "absorb time" recommended by the manufacturer. Most of these batteries are from 3/2016.

Thanks!

Re: The autostart doesn't always come on

I think without an accurate record of the voltage drop/time you may be making assumptions. Quite possibly the 2 minute criteria wasn’t met before shutdown especially if a significant load on weak battery. Why not increase the AGS trigger voltage a bit? The data logs only record one new row per day,...

Re: The autostart doesn't always come on

Care to explain your reasoning? The AGS is designed to come on when the criteria is met in the Mate settings, right? The battery could be brand new or 6 years old, the age shouldn't interfere with the Mate settings. So even though my 2 minute start is designed to turn on the generator when the volt...
