Re: Mate3s and SDHC cards
OutBack only recommends up to 8GB SD cards for the MATE3S. This is mentioned briefly in section M-2 of the programming guide for data logging.

Re: Mate3s and SDHC cards
Hi Raysun, partial update here. Our last test with an SDHC card (Kingston SCHC class 4) was successful. We should have capacity to test SDHC again on firmware 1.4.3 next week.

Re: FM100 misery again
Hi Mike, none of this sounds like a bad controller to me. Also, the actual FM100 failure rate is well below 1%, so even if the first one had a problem, the chance of two in a row is <0.01%. Therefore, jumping to the conclusion of another warranty claim will probably keep you from resolving the actua...

Re: New Isolated PV- on FLEXpowers for FM100 AFCI
Hey Mike! Yes, the FM100 AFCI has an updated arc fault detection system. It is PVRSE listed with IMO FireRaptors, which OutBack sells, and with Tigo's TS4-S and TS4-F devices. We have ongoing tests with Tigo on their other devices, as well.

New Isolated PV- on FLEXpowers for FM100 AFCI
Happy Friday, forum community! Sharing this post to spread knowledge about a key update to the PV negative wiring on new FLEXpower Radians with FM100 AFCI charge controllers. We have shipped hundreds of these since they were released earlier this year and installers have contacted us with questions ...

Re: Mate3 Ethernet port DEAD!
Try downloading the latest firmware from the website and placing it onto the root of the MATE3S SD Card. Then, put the SD card into the MATE3S and hold the "Up" button until you see it go into bootloader mode. If the ethernet port is frozen, this may unfreeze it. If not, file a case with t...

Re: FlexMax 100 ground fault error
And the concern is that the system should be charging faster if the other FM100 were charging at full output? Which port is each one on? I would usually ask about making sure the settings match the battery manufacturers requirements, but I am unfamiliar with the Battleborn batteries. A line diagram ...

Re: FlexMax 100 ground fault error
Hi Mike, good update. That behavior sounds like a quirk in the settings. OPTICS will help us find one if it exists. I can't think of any actual failure mode that would cause the behavior you describe. How close are you to setting up OPTICS? It makes it way easier to look for discrepancies in the set...

Re: FlexMax 100 ground fault error
Hey Zozomike, those instructions from Greg are for an FM60 or FM80, not FM100. Your last post sounds like you removed one of the ground bond jumpers. That is incorrect. Both jumpers must remain installed for negatively-grounded systems like yours. Instead, one of the ground fuses should be removed, ...

Re: Backup failed to switch during outage
The brown-out condition is interesting. I guess you could look up the grid meter model and see what the -8888 error meant. I agree the sensor failure was probably a false alarm side affect of whatever else happened, since it recovered immediately. I would try simulating a grid outage with the new se...

Hi S/D, I understand you got in touch with support and it appears a couple of setting changes allowed the system to transfer without a delay when simulating a grid outage?

Re: Backup failed to switch during outage
Attaching a screenshot of the events in question for reference. *edit* I should note it is unlikely the "sensor failure" has anything to do with the delay in the delay you experienced, so we should probably separate those two questions for now. 1) Do you know at what minute the outage occu...

Re: FM80 Current Limit set to 77 yet caught it at 79+
Raysun is correct about the FM60 and the FM80.
Fortunately, the FM100 does not have this issue! Even tested to failure, it will limit current to no more than 100.5 amps output, including margin of error.
When installed with 7,000 W of PV or less, under warranty, it never exceeds 100.1 amps.

Re: off grid solar tutorial
The way your system is configured, it will show the "off grid" message when the generator drops out. The off grid message is no reason to be concerned in itself, it just means the Radian lost its AC input and switched over to the batteries. We are considering how to change that message in ...
