Re: EV charger with Radian?

I don't have any experience with the EV but lots with radians, I can't see any reason why it wouldn't work and also the 33a is it's rating which you should keep it within but it will handle more than that as well as the spikes. So if you charge at 30 or 25a and theres a startup spike it will still h...

I figured it probably was yea. So with your system do you just do whatever whenever or do you plan out your heavier loads for during the day so that you maximize efficiency?

Re: The weird new product..... Mojave... why?

The cost of storage would be prohibitive for most industrial operations, I'd think. Even grid-scale storage batteries are rated for just a few hours generally. Long duration lithium would be entirely too costly, I'd think. Perhaps a flow battery of some sort, but none of them are as proven as most ...

Re: The weird new product..... Mojave... why?

I'm curious now though, have any big industries or businesses that use alot of power manged to go off grid? Has anyone tried? Getting that much solar isn't the issue it's how do you store that kind of power? I watch a lot of the World Pro Cycling tour events in Europe. On the occasions the races go...

Re: The weird new product..... Mojave... why?

Needless to say, it isn't designed for you. It isn't designed for me either. Its obvious its designed to add storage and grid resilience for folks with rooftop solar and grid-tied inverters. It looks like a turn-key solution. Plug it in and its code-compliant, and it runs. No endless hours wonderin...

The weird new product..... Mojave... why?

So I see they released more details on the Mojave and sofar it looks much less useful. From what I understand it is basically a backup power system to be paired with Ac coupled grid tie solar systems. It does not support any direct input to the batteries or any direct DC inputs so essentially it act...

Re: Running at below rated temp: -24 C

Hello folks, Am I correct in thinking that it is possible I'll fail to get a permit to install the GS8048A in a non-heated garage north of Boston because it could hit -23 C, when the GS8048A min rated temp is -20 C? Thanks! I definitely think your issue is going to be more the batteries, most elect...

I do get the tiny green light appear at the corner of the GFCI outlet, but no power when I plug something in.
The green light on a GFCI outlet is a startus light showing the outlet has power and isn't tripped. So your outlet has power...

Hello all, Thanks Shadow_Storm56! I gave that a try, and I hear the inverter make a hummmmm sound, but still no power at the outlets. I get no event/ or errors. About my system: It's an offgrid (not connected to any utility company), stand alone. Right now it's set to, "Backup". May that ...

Re: No power at the Outlets

Hi All, I upgraded the firmware on my Mate3 and I have no power coming from my wall outlet. Not sure if the shunt order A, B, C is not right. I have a feeling my settings are not correct. My system is an offgrid and not selling powerback. My setup: Discover Advance Energy Batteries (X2) Model#: 42-...

Re: No power at the Outlets

I've not seen a Mate firmware update cause the system to apparently shut down like this. Were any other maintenance or changes carried out at the same time? It resets to defaults, which could be as simple as under inverter it's just set to "off" rather than "on". Mine did that a...

Re: Radian 4048a inconsistancy in the way it's supposed to handle load.

It's solid in its performance into a load that doesn't require out-of-band behavior. Its what they call "good system design". 😄 Been a while since I updated this but I thought I'd update it because I noticed new things. The fact both radians could handle such an overload appears to be it'...

That's planning. 😆 Its 63°F here (and sunny). I'm freezing. Might have to put on socks. You don't get the crazy humidity though I take it? I only ever just use a broom, can only get to the front panels but it gives me 2/3 arrays. I definitely wouldn't use any chemicals on them or spray water at them although that glass is pretty darn tough.

Coffee is more recent, and at least some of the growers are informed by the past. We need restorative agriculture on industrial scale. An oxymoron if eve...

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. https://www.civilbeat.org/2021/12/how-solar-farms-on-mountain-slopes-could-help-hawaii-meet-food-sustainability-goals/ What a frustrating article. I recently installed four S6-460 AGMs on a 24V system. I referred to the install parameters and even posted here for other insights on which settings to update moving from an old FLA system to AGM. Interesting glitch.

So in one of my previous posts I was try to understand why the slave radian inverter would not sell and since then I talked to tech support in which they couldn't solve it but had one last idea. The idea was to discharge the batteries and recharge them using the master/slave combination. I had done ...

Re: Maybe their was a revision? To the 4048a

My SG is very good currently, checked it not long ago. Also I don't like AGM because of the fact they cannot be fixed and cells can't be tested. If they go off balance you won't know till the battery totally fails. Can't equalize them very much as the are sealed and you have no way to test the SG f...
