Re: Stacking a GS4048A-01 with a GS4048A
I believe the OutBack Power Tech Support answer means that you can stack like Radians in their original enclosures side by side. As a clarifying point, there are some people who have asked about the ramifications of inserting two 4048 power modules into the same housing. That would not comply with t...

Re: Battery State of Charge Incorrect
@raysun, it should be no surprise that I almost entirely agree. SkyBox, in latest firmware, uses two different Peukrets constants--depending on which battery is selected. Therefore it offers some advantages over the FNDC. Anecdotally, it seems like a few Discover customers have struggled with SOC ac...

SkyBox backup power
It was only a 15 minute power outage.
The first indication was that the non-critical lighting went out. The kids' favorite streaming service de jour did not.
Power was just out in our neighborhood, so it was a good excuse to order pizza delivery.

Re: Stacked Skyboxes with External CTs, math doesn't add up
We've proven there is an issue with OPTICSRE display of CT data. It's is double-counting PV production from Follower units. The issue will be addressed in an OPTICSRE release in the future.

Those are all placeholders for future potential firmware feature development. We're glad to see there's interest in them.
They don't do anything today. As Mike guessed, that's why the product documentation doesn't explain how they work.
Thank you!

@Luis Pontes We understand your frustration. You need Technical Support from the company that sold and supports the SPC-iii product. That is Alpha Technologies GmbH and their regional channel partners. You wrote "The European assistance of alpha technologies says I have to buy some special lan ...

Hello @Luis Pontes and @ad1664, It is an easy thing to mix up, but you are not referring to an OutBack Power product. I'm sorry to hear that you both are having trouble with fans of this product. The product in question is referred to as either the SPC-iii or SPC-3. It is sold by and supported by Al...

N:25165825 is an AC Gate fault, specifically with L2. The rest of the message confirms the battery voltage dropped too low. Without seeing the case notes and/or Optics site, it would be only conjecture as to what caused this event. Could have been a load imbalance, such as a transient single-phase l...

Hi Mike, In SkyBox 1.4.15 you can and should make that change now. SimpliPhi is available as a pull-down in OPTICS RE already, for SkyBoxes in the latest firmware. My memory is failing... I actually do have the battery set up as Simpliphi 14, which I think gave charge parameters closest to my 3.8 r...

Can you refresh my memory please, which inverter, or micro-inverters, are AC Coupled to this SkyBox? Looks like the same thing may have happened yesterday as well, but SkyBox recovered from it (yesterday) without needing a human reboot.

How do you set voltage high and low to switch ...

I haven’t found that forum yet. What I seem to be running into is that these batteries are peculiar. No one seems to know what to do with them. Yes, but at least it's not 600W from the grid. Still, doesn't seem reasonable to have this much power draw with the inverter essentially idle (no external loads). OB Tech support has suggested putting some load on the inverter so they can compare Skybox loaded vs. unloaded behavior. I'll try that t...
