Re: Not selling, & inverter status says "SellRE"

difference between absorb time programmed into the FNDC, vs. the FMs and VFXRs. I'm not aware of an Absorb Time programmed into the FNDC. Are you referring to Charged Time? Each charger, by default, operates autonomously. Absorb Time programmed onto each charger controls that charger's Absorb phase...

Re: How to torque batt pos lug on FPR-4048?

If I’m going to the trouble of making a custom busbar, I suppose it would behoove me to also make provision for mounting the other positive cables from the front as well — correct? The ideal would be each mount point would be for a single connection. The bus plate would be the only item directly at...

Re: How to torque batt pos lug on FPR-4048?

But who in their right mind would effectively hide the battery positive mounting lug when it would be trivial to simply "reverse" the bolt and allow it to be mounted from the front? My ancient DC Breaker Box (from 2007) has this convenient plate on the 250A breaker: DC Connections (small)...

Re: How to torque batt pos lug on FPR-4048?

Thanks for the feedback and insight. As I’ve said before this is a piss-poor detail in an otherwise quality product. Not sure what they were smoking when then came to this part, but it sure leaves a bad taste in my mouth. For the price of this unit I can’t understand cutting a few pennies in such a...

Re: How to torque batt pos lug on FPR-4048?

I might add, the photo shows the state of the pre-wired FPR-4048 as it came from the factory — the battery positive cable is not yet attached. M I believe you mentioned the red cable that is attached goes to the FM100? The lug wiring detail diagram shows that cable, the (not yet attached) battery c...

Re: How to torque batt pos lug on FPR-4048?

Up from underneath. M OK. So the challenge is getting a torque wrench head between the lug and the back wall of the cabinet? I have a low profile torque wrench/socket set (made by Park) from my bicycling days that would probably work. Probably too spendy for one lug though. If no compatible tool is...

Re: How to torque batt pos lug on FPR-4048?

Yep. Just trying to get oriented to the photo and the narrative.

I'm guessing the image showing the disconnect lug (with the attached Bat + cable) is looking down into the GSLC from above, with the outer cover removed? Or is it up, from underneath?

Good idea on tagging the Fuel cans. I have NG so I am stuck with that. Nice to not have to store fuel but if NG gets shut off I am SOL. I can with about an hour's work switch to Propane. Now there is a 1980's vintage Onan Diesel 7.5 kW for sale about an hour north of me. The problem is the guy want...

Re: How to torque batt pos lug on FPR-4048?

The existing positive cable goes to one of the two circuit breakers which then goes to power the FM100. You can most clearly see it in the FMR-4048 wiring diagram I posted a few days ago, link here: https://forum.outbackpower.com/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=16664 OK. So the actual Battery + cable atta...

Took my 400 AH Lithium pack down to 8 percent capacity left yesterday. 3.5 days of average use and super rainy and crappy weather. Ran the Generator today for 1:45 min took me back up to 53 percent. Let the solar do the rest for the day. It was actually sunny here. Still did not get to 100 percent ...

I stopped reading at: The global lithium-ion battery market size is projected to expand by over 12 percent between 2021 and 2030, compared to the projected 5 percent growth in the global lead-acid battery market size during that same time period. When an author leads with statistics out of context, ...

Huh?

This from the RELiON battery blog: Most lead-acid batteries experience significantly reduced cycle life if they are discharged below 50% DOD. LiFePO4 batteries can be continually discharged to 100% DOD and there is no long-term effect. However, we recommend you only discharge down to 80% to maintain...

Perhaps a silly question, but here goes: Can I commission an FPR-4048 without an Ethernet cable? I’m hoping that basic commissioning can be done while “offline” and I can add “online” features later after go-live. Let me know if I’m missing something. Cheers Michael Absolutely. The system is comple...

Besides having a disconnect between inverter and Lynx, should I install a fuse or breaker or something to keep the batteries protected from maybe a lightning strike? I have a lightning arrestor on the Inverter. If your setup is a FlexPo...

I've had the Mate3s and OpticsRE for just over a week now and am really loving the daily information I'm getting (even remotely)! So, regarding the Battery tab and the "From Battery" numbers, would one be correct in saying this is the actual daily capacity of what is being used by the bat...

Re: Battery standby mode causing battery ocp fault

They say its normal behavior.. Normal? How do they rationalize that? I'd want to bring that cell in line. Anything over 3.65V would make me nervous. Maybe leverage the BMS. Leave the Balancing on full time, and put a small, continuous drain on the battery until 20% SoC is reached. (I'd say one-time...

That one cell is definitely out of balance with the others, and high in absolute voltage.

It would be worth checking in with Big Battery about how to get that cell back in line.

Re: Battery standby mode causing battery ocp fault

Noted Raysun, So I have one cell that is charging more than the others near the end of the charge cycle…bad cell? More likely its discharging. Cell balancing bleeds excess charge off cells that are overvoltage. 3.65V is considered "full to the max" for LiFePo4 cells, and 3.75V is getting ...
