Re: Change to 3 phase
I would trust the string sizing tool. The person doing the code for that knows what they are doing and purposefully allows the limits, but I understand if you are concerned about it. Maximum power or maximum DC/AC ratio can be important, but most important is the Max Isc (in the manual) and Voltage...

Re: Upgrading From FLAs to Simpliphi
the inverter's current limit is set at 50 aac...should I increase it to 75 aac ? Goodness! Is your generator that large? Your inverter isn't designed for that AC load IIRC. There are two AC Input limits to set: 20220516_123511.jpg • Gen Input AC Limit This should be set at (or below) the maximum ra...

Re: Upgrading From FLAs to Simpliphi
what would be the negative of putting PV back online to help with charging The maximum continuous charge current for the battery is 75A. How much charge current is the inverter delivering? Has Global Charger Control been implemented? When the battery reaches the Absorb Voltage set in the FX (56.0V)...

Re: Upgrading From FLAs to Simpliphi
generator charging for 1 hour and 15 min and Mate3s is going back and forth from 53.9 to 54v. Charge controller reporting 54.3v This is pretty normal for charging. That voltage range is the "plateau" at which most of the charge takes place. The 150AH battery was likely at or under 20% SoC...

Re: Solar array at Lāhainā Noon
Our panels are permanently mounted flat (actually a 3% roof pitch so rainwater runs to the gutter). We don't have the unattenuated clear skies San Diego enjoys. Its rare to have blue sky here all day. Rather, we have clear mornings and partial cloud cover by about noon. We could squeeze more PV harv...

Re: Upgrading From FLAs to Simpliphi
The FNDC won't be accurate until its: • properly programmed • connected battery is actually charged to 100% The Absorb voltages on the FX and FM should be set as posted earlier (56.0 and 56.4V) respectively to establish priority for solar charging in the event both are being used at the same time. A...

Re: Upgrading From FLAs to Simpliphi
Great, I changed Absorb specs on FX, FM and FNDC from 54.6v to 56.4v. I also plugged FNDC back up. I will investigate "trim pot" and using FNDC for LBCO for inverter in the morning. I have learned a lot today thanks to you Raysun and my neighbor. Thanks so much for having the patience...I...

Re: Upgrading From FLAs to Simpliphi
LOW BATTERY CUT OFF USING THE FNDC The FX inverter LBCO parameter cannot be set to the 50V cutoff specified for the Phi battery. The FNDC's voltmeter can track battery voltage, and its relay programmed to switch from a closed (ON) state to an open (OFF) state. The FNDC can control the FX Inverter ON...

Re: Upgrading From FLAs to Simpliphi
54.6v (almost there) 54.6V is the old Phi specification for "long Absorb", initially specified at 1H, then modified to 2H. My testing took 1:27H to complete. It is not the currently recommended profile. The latest spec is: Absorb voltage = 56.4V Absorb Time = 0.1H With the FNDC unplugged,...

HAVING THE RTS PLUGGED IN HAS THE POTENTIAL OF DESTROYING YOUR LIFEPO BATTERY.
I suggest unplugging it so temperature compensated charging is disabled.

Yes. Get everything else set up first.
It involves the FNDC and FX Inverter ON/OFF terminals.
Suggest making that a separate project.

Re: Upgrading From FLAs to Simpliphi
Mixing battery types isn't recommended, but you could probably get away with connecting the AGM in parallel with the Phi for a short while to add some charge. Its the "MacGyver" method. It could be incorporated into the steps I outlined, and would make disconnecting the AGM while operating...
