Re: Outback radian with Signature solar Lifepo4 battery
I will be first to say and lord knows raysun can confirm it but something else is jacked up on your system. I have the fpr 8048a-01 also with 3 of the eg4ll batteries. It does take all 3 of mine to boot inverters(1 or 2 will not do it) but these batteries are the only thing that I haven’t had a prob...

Re: Fm 80 charging question
Nevermind I found the answer to that. 48vx80a=3840 watts max. So my 65-70 amps are going to be okay.
Thanks for being patient with me. The deeper I dig the less I know.

Re: Fm 80 charging question
So is there a setting to limit input from array? I'm guessing no. I know CC can't take more than 150v so I'm good there and I shouldn't in theory make more than 65a per string. From what I've gleaned CC's should handle that too. Batteries' nominal setting is 30a per battery x 3 = 90a. I honestly did...

Re: Fm 80 charging question
As we say here in the south, “Bless My Heart”, One cc was set 80a limit and the other was at 30a. Changed it to 80 a and like magic both cc operate the same. Not sure how that happened. This is a relatively new system for me. I assumed when I set everything up in mate it would change both cc. Guess ...

Fm 80 charging question
I have 2 fm80s on identical arrays one has input of roughly 75v @ 45a, the other has input of 75v @ 0-20a - this one varies constantly . You would think that’s an array issue. I switched Pv inputs around but input/ outputs on cc stayed the same. One cc appears to be doing all the charging and the ot...

Re: Gvfx grid use
Mike
After much angst I have managed a work around. Every evening at 6ish I turn AC in off at sub panel and turn it on around 10:00 next morning. Not really the way I would like for it to work but I do go off grid when I want to.

Re: Gvfx grid use
Grid load transfer wasn’t the answer either. I may have to stare at the wall for awhile and think about it some more. I could call Outback but that’s a pretty lengthy process too.

Re: Gvfx grid use
Okay enabled load grid transfer and grid dropped at 17:00. Question will be, will it reconnect at 12:00. Never messed with that setting so I will see.

Re: Gvfx grid use
Well, I guess it’s just another Outback mystery. If it works on yours it should work on mine. You know this gvfx has worked fine for years so I’ve never bothered with any firmware updates. I hate fixing things that aren’t broken but I’m wondering if that could be an issue. I feel like it’s some obsc...

Re: Gvfx grid use
Yes, I have two mates. GVFX and Radian operate totally independent from one another.I get asked that type of question a lot.
Yes I know Mate is pretty dirty.

Gvfx grid use
I so hate to even ask this question, but here I go. My gvfx3648 has operated flawlessly now for 7 years as grid tie sell. Now that I have my radian running and I have transferred some loads and I’d like to change up how I’m using the gvfx. I want to go off grid from 5:00 pm until 12:00 noon the next...

Battery voltage sense fault?
Finally got radian up and running and all panels are up. Had a strange event occur. “Battery voltage sense fault” then one second later “battery voltage sense ok”. Not sure what that means. Batteries had charged to 100% and had minimal load maybe .3 kw. Do I need to be worrying about something or is...

Re: Fpr8048 wiring question
Good. It looks like I can connect dc negative to shunt bar. There is an empty lug on it and I was hoping dc neg would go there. A lot simpler connection for sure.
Thanks again

Re: Fpr8048 wiring question
Okay, I have studied the gslc manual and I guess I’m being dense. What threw me originally was battery terminal connections are called dc positive and other is just negative bus bar not dc negative. for simplicity’s sake, can’t I attach dc negative to shunt bar or do I need to go behind all that to ...

Fpr8048 wiring question
I know this a stupid question but…
Wiring battery to gslc on FPR 8048. I know where to wire dc positive but does dc negative go to negative bus bar or inverter negative dc bus bar? I’m guessing negative bus bar.

Re: Grid Zero question
Ah yes I may have had typo there.
I assumed as separate systems they would work but you what assume means. Still I’m going to be interested in how/if the gvfx sees radian as grid when I lose the real grid(happens more often than you might think).

Re: Grid Zero question
Well….I’ve use the gvfx all this time for backup for all my 110 loads. My plan is to use the radian for as much as is reasonably possible for 220 loads. It will operate totally separately from gvfx. Only thing they will share is grid input. I will have separate load centers, panels, charge controlle...

Re: Grid Zero question
That’s sort of what I guessed. Just wanted to make sure. I’m in the process of upgrading to FPR 8048 radian and I was going to try grid zero with it. Will the radian and gvfx play nice together with one grid tie and the other grid zero or will they fight? I’m probably going to end up with two separa...

Grid Zero question
I have 6-7 year old GVFX 3648 and I've never had any problems with it. I usually just sell excess to grid but I was wondering if the GVFX supports grid zero. It is not an option on this mate3 but I haven't updated any of the firmware in 6 years so I don't know if that's the problem. I hate to fix so...

I can do that.
I think I’m hearing I need a firm warranty from dealer more than “specs” from factory.

Re: Upgrading system - Battery question
I think battery is a rebranding but same battery for all practical purposes. Price is really cheap so it’s hard to ignore. System would be powering a well pump so there is a surge issue. I knew bms handled charging but I didn’t realize it was sensitive to surges. Yes it would be vfxr3648. So what am...

Upgrading system - Battery question
I'm planning on adding to my system with a Flexpower two 3648 and 7K of panels. Looking at a LiFePo4 battery called EGYLL with 5.1 Kw. Probably get three of them. My question is will this battery play nice with Outback. Battery folks assure me it should work fine but have been sort of vague about wh...
