Re: Ethernet Addresses

The entries under Port look to be "legit" LAN addressing. Confirmed by being able to access the Mate using the IP address displayed. The entries under Ethernet Addresses would not work. Perhaps they were manually entered at some point? DHCP Enabled, so the Port addresses are likely config...

Ethernet Addresses

Sorry if this is a really basic question, but can someone explain what I’m seeing here? This is what I see with the Port key: Port Key.jpg And this is System —> Ethernet Addresses Ethernet.jpg I’d expect to see the same IP address, but I’m not an IT guy! FWIW, the .130 address is what I use to acces...

Apologies, I forgot to take the message down.
I figured that out eventually  ... I forgot to re-enable DHCP for a few hours, and Optics seems to want that working to connect.

Re: Planned OPTICS RE Maintenance - May 18, 02:00 PT - 08:00 PT

Service has been restored. I'm still seeing quite a few devices offline. No Optics here -- the home screen (my site) comes up, but it says Current System Status: Offline, even though I've enabled Optics on the Mate again (Lock button) and power cycled both the Mate and my router. I also lost the Ma...

Re: System offline - strange error after multiple screen refreshes

In the meantime while we're working on fixes, try disabling OpticsRE functionality in the Mate3s LCK screen if you want to access the local page to keep an eye on the system. The internal web page probably has a lower priority than the attempts to connect to the server. That seems to work -- it's b...

Re: System offline - strange error after multiple screen refreshes

I notice that I can't dependably access the Mate3s Webpage now. When I power cycle the Mate, I can connect briefly (using DHCP, which has worked all along), and the page updates as usual every few seconds for about 2 minutes, at which point it freezes up (ie, no more updating of data.) I'm not too c...

Re: heat pumps

In my rural setting there's also the issue with power outages. Whether it's wildfires in the summer or snow (or just wind!) in the winter, PG&E uses any excuse to declare a Public Safety Power Shutoff, which can last well over 24 hours. Many days I can't go that long without heating or cooling. ...

Re: Fm 80 charging question

Is your inverter set up to feed power back to the grid? If so, I believe that's not compatible with Global Charger Control:

Re: when do i replace batteries

It would be great if there was a solution that could be done from Optics. So far all these ideas (breaker resets, force float, et al) require hands-on intervention at the FM. If you're out of town when you discover the problem ....

Of course, being asleep would still be an issue

Not me, but that's a good idea -- PV off, batt off, batt on, PV on? If it happens again someday I'll try it.

In my case, I didn't adjust the pot inside, just from Optics. If it happened more, I'd get more serious .

Re: when do i replace batteries

Its an interesting issue. Here's what the manual says about Charged status: Screenshot_20220426-100057_Word.jpg The FM enters the "charged" state after absorb ends, and then gets stuck there, without any other charging source running. It's a rare bug, which I haven't seen more than 2-3 ti...

raysun wrote: Tue Apr 26, 2022 11:20 am How is an FM80 discharging the battery? That isn't really possible. Do you mean, the FM80 is not adding charge to the battery?
Yes, it's the loads that are discharging the battery. But the FM just stops harvesting any PV until you notice and fix the problem.

Re: when do i replace batteries

However, that issue with the FM80 going into 'charged' mode isnt due to battery issues. I suspect it is a bug in its software that causes it to do that sometimes instead of returning to float after it finishes absorb. Once it starts doing that, it can be difficult to get it to stop. What I do is sh...

Re: 3.85kw array making 4.88kw!

We have a 4kW array, but with snow reflection in February, and clear days in the late fall or early spring, we can achieve 4.7kW, which comes out to just under 100A and seems to trip the charge controller circuit breaker, very frustrating to lose production for a half hour or more until it's discov...

I think it's even worse than just FX vs FXR. I have a VFXR3524A and it doesn't have an adjustable HBCO. Maybe the A-01 would, but I only have LBCO.
